Governor Sonny Perdue has named Hogai Nassery, M.D. to the Department of Community Health's Georgia Physician Partnership. Nassery serves as chief of community medicine services for Grady Health System. She is one of several physicians from around the state appointed by the governor. The partnership offers the providers' perspective as the Department of Community Health administers state healthcare programs like, Medicaid and PeachCare, and develops its healthcare policy priorities.
"I am honored to be a member of the partnership," says Nassery. "To me, Medicaid is a living, breathing issue for all of our clinicians and the health system. We see the effect it has on our patients, their families and access to care. "
As chief of community medicine, Nassery provides clinical performance leadership for 30 physicians and mid-level providers who see patients at four of Grady's neighborhood health centers. She began her career at the health system in 1997, working at the DeKalb-Grady neighborhood center as the result of a National Health Service Core placement. She is still a practicing physician, working now at the North DeKalb neighborhood center.
